Once home to four thriving sake breweries, Kikugawa witnessed a gradual decline, leaving only Kodama Shuzo to carry the torch. However, the flame flickered as the aging owner struggled to maintain production. Recognizing the need to preserve this invaluable cultural heritage, Choshu Sangyo, a solar power company with deep roots in Yamaguchi, stepped in.

Driven by a shared passion for tradition and innovation, they breathed new life into the brewery, constructing a state-of-the-art facility where the spirit of Kodama Shuzo lives on. At the helm stands Miki Fujioka, a seasoned brewer with an impressive track record, infusing her expertise and creativity into every step of the sake-making process.

Choshu Shuzo's flagship sake, "Tenbi," embodies this harmonious blend of heritage and modernity. Its name, derived from the sun goddess Amaterasu (Tenshō Daijin) and the word for sake, "Biroku," reflects the brewery's reverence for nature and its commitment to crafting exceptional sake.
